The project Shots of Dialogue came to an end, but during this month we have established new friendship, we have exchanged a lot of ideas and what we know for sure is that the adventure of Shots of.. cannot finish after this project. So we discussed many ideas and we are still collecting suggestions about how to follow-up. Stay tuned and in a few weeks, clicking on "next" on this webpage, you will discover which are the future steps of our network. The X edition of Sottodiciotto Filmfestival will take place from 26 November to 5 December 2009. Sottodiciotto Filmfestival started in 2000, promoted by “Aiace Torino”, and “Divisione Servizi Educativi della Citta’ di Torino”. The aim was both to promote creativity among youngsters through presentation of works by under-18s, and to host a selection of works showing the world of the same age group, therefore becoming a reference for those who love the youth cinema of the past, present and especially the future. We are proud to announce the new partnership of Shots of Dialogue with the Turkish branch of Digital Film Academy, a New York state-licensed school that specializes in digital filmmaking education. DFA provides the training and skills that are vital for the independent filmmaker.
Well done! The Training Course "Shots of Dialogue" was successfully run from the 3rd to the 11th of January in Altamura. Link is very happy with the results and we would like to thank all participants for their contribution to the success of this activity. During the training course the participants did 3 short-movies wich will be soon available on this website. Now particpants went back to their countries and started to plan local actions.
Vega Youth Center is an NGO from Belgrade, Serbia, that is dedicated to promoting activism and social awareness amongst youth, currently through projects in areas of media literacy and video activism. The Center is planning to organise a Media literacy training: "We can change the world by changing the way we make it visible". Target group: youth workers, trainers, educators, volunteers and/or paid NGO staff. The activities will be based on critical examination of traditional and new media as tools for fighting prejudices and xenophobia, as well as on the improvement of participants' understanding of the creative potential of media as devices in promoting youth activism, human values, cultural diversity and social awareness. To mark the culmination of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue, the London Representation of the European Commission has made possible the production of an on-line advent calendar - Electric December 2008 . The on-line project will showcase 24 short films and animations by young people (14-21) from across the UK and Europe in the run-up to Christmas 2008.
